When a Man Loves

Chevalier Fabien des Grieux is a divinity student living in France. He breaks from the church when he meets the beautiful Manon Lescaut . They spend only one weekend together before Manon's brother sells her to the evil Count de Montfontaine . Fabien is heartbroken, but, when he learns Montfontaine plans to deport Manon, he sneaks onto her ship and causes a mutiny, which allows the pair to escape.
