Young brothers Jean and Freddie Rezeau are living the life in Brittany, France, enjoying the spoils of their grandmother's chateau. That is, until she dies, forcing the two to move back with their parents. Their mother, Paule, is domineering and callous toward her children. Their father, Jacques, is too passive to defend his boys, and Jean and Freddie begin to realize that they'll have to stand up to their mother themselves.
