The blundering Monsieur Hulot, an engineer, has designed a gadget-laden car prototype, which he must transport to a car show in Amsterdam. Along with a mechanic and a snooty American PR rep, Hulot runs into several roadblocks along the way, both figuratively and literally. Meeting a myriad of colorful characters along the way, Hulot and his two companions have a road trip none of them will soon forget.
