Ku Shen Chai, an unmotivated artist in his early 30s who still lives with his mother, is shaken from his comfortable rut by the arrival of the beautiful and mysterious Yang Hui-Ching, a princess on the run from General Ou-Yang Nien, who has murdered her entire family. Yang brings Ku into her circle of protectors, including rival General Shih Wen-Chiao and the nameless monk whose spiritual guidance transforms Ku into a valiant fighter.
