Nigel Dennis, a tabloid magazine publisher, makes a fortune blackmailing high-profile politicians and celebrities with the threat of publishing their dirty secrets. After his latest two targets die, Dennis sets his eye on a new set of celebrities, including Sonny MacGregor, a smug television host, and Flora Ransom, a writer. However, the latest group decides to join forces and concoct an elaborate plot to murder Nigel.
