This dialogue-free film follows a magician known only as the ''Illusionist'', who vows to free his mentally disabled little brother from an asylum. His family, a group of simple farmers, greet his plan with skepticism, preferring not to disrupt their traditional life. The magician nevertheless resolves to go ahead with his plan, even if he has to work alone. The odds of rescuing his sibling seem long at best, despite his wit and determination.
