TV writer Don Newell has been having an affair with actress Paula Ranier, who works on the same ''true crime'' show. When Paula demands $2,500 to keep the affair from Don's wife, he agrees. However, as he arrives to deliver the money, he finds Paula dead. Soon, the show's researcher, Henry Hayes, suggests that their next show should be about Paula's murder. He also hints that he has incriminating evidence against Don.
