Journalist Ricardo has always been enamored of renowned Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca . Several years after the poet's disappearance during the Spanish Civil War, Ricardo returns to Spain to investigate, despite the warnings of his father . The dictator Franco is still very much in power, however, and Ricardo's continuing investigation draws the attention of Centeno, a security officer for the oppressive ruler.
