Growing up on a farm with his elder brother, Mason, Tex McCormick becomes troubled after his mother's death and his father's departure. While Tex and Mason try to live on their own, their individual teen woes threaten their relatively independent existence out in the country. In the meantime, Tex falls for local girl Jamie Collins, the sister of his friend, Johnny, and faces disapproval from their strict father, Cole .
