Attracted to young Robert Elliott, who works in the factory she manages, Jane Vale promotes him -- and then falls in love with him. To quell the rumors that begin spreading, Robert proposes to Jane. But before the wedding, Jane's younger sister, Dorothy, meets Robert and they fall in love. Robert marries Jane out of loyalty, but soon after, Jane realizes their age difference is too great, and conspires to bring him together with Dorothy.
