Sudanese immigrant Majok finds life in the Netherlands disorienting and severely misses his homeland. Feeling like an outcast, he takes to sleeping on farmland with the cows. That is where he meets Jakob, an elderly farmer who is also alone. Jakob, a war veteran bitter about his country's treatment of its soldiers, has isolated himself from friends and family. Slowly, Majok and Jakob form a deep friendship, and each evaluates his current situation.
