Upon discovering that her husband has fathered another woman's child, Angela takes her son, Guille, to Madrid to stay with her dad, who owns a billiard parlor patronized almost exclusively by his elderly friends. But when Angela and Guille arrive at her father's home, she learns from his much younger live-in girlfriend, Charo, that he died that morning. Stuck with the decrepit pool hall, Angela attempts to revitalize it -- and herself.
