Clio Dulaine was born out of wedlock. Her mother was a servant of a wealthy New Orleans landowner who paid for the pregnant woman to flee the country and move to France. Now looking to avenge her mother's ruined reputation, Clio travels to New Orleans to destroy the family that humiliated her mother all those years ago.
