Employing his signature documentary style, Frederick Wiseman investigates life at a horse racing track. Eschewing voice-over and direct address, the film follows the jockeys, trainers, owners and myriad of others involved in the life of New York's Belmont Park. Additional sequences at a horse farm offer insight into the complicated breeding processes used in the creation of thoroughbreds. Intertwined throughout is the quest of the horse Pleasant Colony to win the Triple Crown.
