A rich entrepreneur is emotionally distant from his daughter, Barbara, after his wife's death. Feeling unloved, Barbara turns to her nanny for support. But when Barbara becomes lost in the city, she decides to abandon her home altogether and joins a pair of radio entertainers, who delight in the young girl's vocal talents.
