Teenager Cara-Ethyl is having a tough go of it, in between dealing with her ballooning weight and the fact that her mom recently went blind after being in a car accident. Ashamed about her social status and dreading the prospect of turning 18, Cara-Ethyl winds up having a life-altering night with an older pizza delivery guy who offers to let her come with him on his rounds after he brings her birthday dinner to her party, where no one showed up.
