Izzie Goldberg, a Jewish retiree, lives in a London home for senior citizens, which is run by his daughter, Dee . Dee's son, Keith, who struggles with his half-black, half-Jewish identity, also works at the home, making for an unusual family setting. While each relative works out his or her own issues, more drama arrives in the form of Kim, a teenage girl seeking employment and a roof over her head.
