When Bob is diagnosed with leukemia, he is given only a few months to live. Upon learning this, Bob's friends kidnap him from the hospital for a road trip to Mexico, where they hope to go surfing together one last time. Organized by Noah, a conflicted expectant father, the trip includes struggling actor Lance, reluctant doctor Schwartz and fresh-out-of-prison Jeb, who meditate on life, death, love and friendship.
