Bastien is in love with two things: his girlfriend, Fabienne, and his job working for Philippe Letzger, the smarmy host of a daytime TV talk show. Though Letzger takes advantage of Bastien and treats him badly, Bastien endures it because he idolizes the show's producer, Jean-Louis Broustal . When Jean-Louis invites Bastien and Fabienne on a weekend getaway with him and his wife, things quickly grow complicated.
