After arriving in Rockfield, Eddie Moore begins a relationship with waitress Cam Johnson . While spending an afternoon in the pool of prominent local H.L. Rockfield, the couple sees Sheriff Rankin shoot Deputy Tylor, who has been trying to blackmail Rockfield. Framed for the murder, the pair escapes and gains protection from lawyer Alex Warren, who must get them back to town safely for the trial.
