An older unmarried woman, Lydia MacMillan, gets reacquainted with a previous boyfriend, Michael . When he invites Lydia to his house for tea, however, she has no idea that she's about to be confronted with her past. Two other men who courted Lydia years earlier, Bob and Frank, are waiting for her and want to know why she never married. Her answer dredges up memories of Richard, the man she loved and is still waiting for.
