In jail for murder, tough guy Moltes plays the lottery every week with the assistance of a prison guard, Francis Reggio, who values Moltes' relationship advice. When Moltes hits the jackpot, he breaks out to claim his money, only to discover that Reggio's girlfriend, Pauline, has the ticket and has gone to Africa. Moltes and Reggio set out to find her, pursued by Detective Youssuf and the brother of the man Moltes killed.
