Alan King is a British army captain serving in India. When by chance his fellow soldiers learn that he's a half-caste born not far from where they're serving, they discriminate against him; but Brig. Gen. Maitland puts King in charge of training local recruits. Soon after, he falls for the general's daughter, Susan, and volunteers to help put down the growing Indian rebellion by pretending to defect.
