Miguel, a writer for the popular Mexican soap opera ''Destiny of Love,'' gets pulled over one night by a traffic cop. Luckily, the cop, Bracho, is a huge fan of the show and lets Miguel go without a ticket after the writer tells him plot secrets about the soap's star character, Gabriela. But when the actress who plays Gabriela quits, Bracho goes off the rails and hunts down Miguel, turning the writer's life into a preposterous soap itself.
