Kindly, fading star Carol Stevens accepts a role in a two-bit Western movie and arrives for an on-location shoot in a small town. When Stevens has words with her pompous co-star, Grant Drexel, Drexel's stuntman, Buck Kennedy, steps in to defend her. Kennedy's honorable gesture costs him his job. After a group of gangsters posing as a film crew frames the newly unemployed Kennedy for the robbery of a local bank, he must struggle to clear his name.
