Aging Arius Green lives a quiet life on his Northern California ranch with his family, including his wife; son Earl, a struggling artist; and teenage granddaughter, Sun, a budding environmental activist. When a local police officer is murdered, hordes of reporters descend on the town, destroying the Green family's peace. In lieu of dialogue, the actors lip-synch the lyrics of writer-director Neil Young's songs.
