In the 1820s, the aging artist Francisco Goya exiles himself to Bordeaux with his wife, Leocadia, and daughter, Rosario, to escape the oppressive Ferdinand VII in Spain. During his last days, he spends countless hours talking to his daughter and painting through the nighttime hours. In these pursuits, he muses on why he started to paint, as well as how his life celebrated his imagination. His reflections inspire his final works of art.
