Jochen Epstein has just completed a 15-year prison sentence for murder, and he is eager to leave Germany -- and his sordid past -- behind him. But as he walks the streets he used to amble with his friends Karl and Adam, he is overcome with powerful and painful memories, including the night he killed a man.
