Two seemingly unrelated events -- the revelation that his wife is pregnant and his surprisingly poor performance on a routine vision test -- set the perfectly conventional life of mild-mannered notary Juan Desouza adrift. When a bus accident en route to Victoria, Argentina, results in the death of a complete stranger, the aging Desouza takes the name of the deceased as his alias and stumbles away from banality and obligation into a troubling adventure in escapism.
