Durval and his mother, Carmita, live a humdrum existence in the back of Durval Records, the music store they own. Their routine is turned upside down when a woman disappears, leaving them with a 5-year-old child, Kiki, and a note promising to return in a few days. Durval and Carmita later discover that Kiki may be the kidnapped child of a wealthy family. Their affection for Kiki makes handing her over to the authorities difficult.
