Premise of "Idlewild"
Outkast gets the
Chicago treatment. Formerly known as the Untitled Outkast Project, this is a period musical set in the South during Prohibition. Gangsters inflict their thugdom on Rooster, a speakeasy performer, and his shy, piano-playing buddy, Percival. Between hot-cha song-and-dance numbers at the club known as "Church," Percy pitches woo with a gorgeous chanteuse, who has plans to get the two of them out of town. But sinister forces conspire to keep them from leaving.
