On vacation at a quiet hotel surrounded by a lush green forest, married couple Max and Alissa become fast friends with two new arrivals. Elisabeth Alione is coping with a recent miscarriage and seems detached from her wealthy husband, Bernard, while aspiring novelist Stein grows increasingly besotted with the lovely Alissa.
