Kala Rongo is a Buddhist Monastery located in a remote area in northeastern Tibet. There, women can pursue the religious training that their patriarchal society has previously denied them. For the first time in Tibet's history, women are provided with an alternative to living in a society where their gender is a severe disadvantage. The women of Kala Rongo spend their days working and meditating in a community that confirms the power of devotion and simplicity.
