Keller, Terrell Lee, Squirrel and John are four best friends about to graduate from the high school in their tiny West Texas town. The boys have a longstanding pact to escape their small-world upbringing and head for Los Angeles once they get their diplomas. Although each boy has dreamt of a more exciting life elsewhere, all are struggling to take the plunge, especially as the townspeople try to convince them all to stay.
