When husband-and-wife criminal team Herman and Goldie mistake struggling screenwriter Michael Winston for a mob bagman, the unlikely trio strike a deal: Michael will write a screenplay about their recent failed bank robbery that will be the most realistic gangster movie ever. Unfortunately, it works too well, bringing the Hawk, the ruthless criminal who masterminded the heist, out of hiding to exact revenge on his betrayers.
