On her father's farm, young Fern Arable lovingly raises a runt piglet and names him Wilbur. When he gets older, he is sold to Farmer Zuckerman. There, Wilbur makes new friends, notably a spider named Charlotte . When Charlotte learns that the Zuckermans plan to turn Wilbur into pork chops, she weaves an elaborate plan to save his bacon.
