Seventeen-year-old Farukh and his younger brother, Pontsjik, are totally dependent on one another. One day, they decide to hop a freight train and travel through the deserted countryside to visit their long-lost father in hopes of securing a better life. The brothers encounter strangers and obstacles along the way, and grow closer during their shared journey. They face their biggest obstacle when they finally meet their father, who is now a successful doctor.
