Kitty Taylor supports her family as a switchboard operator, as her father has been unemployed for more than a year. When Kitty's fiancé, mechanic Bill Lowery, breaks several dates in order to keep his garage running, Kitty, in frustration, goes on a blind date and meets Bob Hartwell, the son of a department store magnate. Bob soon offers her a modeling job, but, when he gets serious about Kitty, his snobbish father fires her.
