Nadine Roberts, a Chicago lawyer, is devastated when she learns her sister is missing in Tijuana, Mexico. After saying goodbye to her husband, James, Nadine travels to Tijuana to track down her sister. She ignores the advice of police Detective Campos to leave the search to the authorities, and becomes increasingly distracted by an odd relationship between a local hotel employee and an elderly woman .
