When Jaume Clarà, a college professor, is told he is terminally ill, he is forced to confront his own mortality. As he drafts his last will and testament, he ponders several meaningful relationships in his life. He is in love with one of his students, David -- who in turn has gotten the daughter of Jaume's best friend, Pere, pregnant. With his days numbered, Jaume struggles to arrange for those he loves to be cared for, both physically and emotionally.
