Anna, a heart surgeon in Marseilles, cares for her curmudgeonly father Barsam . Anna has issues from her childhood stemming from her belief that her Armenian-raised father was terribly cruel to her deceased mother. After she diagnoses Barsam with a serious cardiac condition, he flees her care and returns to the town where he grew up. Anna and her father's friend Yervanth fly to Armenia to search for him, allowing Anna to experience a second adolescence.
