Anna is a divorced woman who has been dealt a bad hand in life. She has aspirations to be an actress, but up until now has been cast only in minor roles. She is often lonely, spending most of her free time with her neighbor, but sees a glimmer of hope when she meets Vikentiy, a biologist, and starts to fall in love with him. She is also cast in a film -- and, unfortunately, because of circumstances, she must choose between the two.
