Striving to survive in war-torn Beirut, beautiful young Samar tries to keep her family and friends safe. Though surrounded by violence and a crumbling society, the slender but tough teenager looks after her younger acquaintances and performs her duties as a daughter. Samar meets a conceptual artist named Karim and forms a romantic attachment, but their relationship and very ability to stay alive will be tested by the realities of life during wartime.
