In midlife, soul mates Barbara and Martin finally meet. At first, their mutual sexual attraction is disturbing and undeniable, but their love for music further fuels their passion. Martin is a composer and conductor, and Barbara is first violinist in a symphony orchestra which he guest-conducts.
