When commanding officer Robert Emmett Sharkey learns that there is a German mole in the group of O.S.S. agents he's training to send behind enemy lines during World War II, he makes the strategic decision to string the man along, feeding him false information to pass to his superiors. When the double agent escapes, in the process killing another agent who was meant to complete an important undercover assignment, Sharkey decides to go after him himself.
